Sentra for Power BI
Sentra indexes Power BI metadata and can run live, read-only queries, so an answer about a number comes with the number itself and the conversation that explains it.
What Sentra syncs
- Workspaces, datasets and their metadata
- Live read-only DAX queries at question time
How it syncs
Metadata refreshes on a timer. Live queries run under the asking person's own Microsoft sign-in.
Permissions Sentra requests
A service principal for the metadata index, and delegated Microsoft OAuth for live queries.
Who can see what
Microsoft's own row-level security applies to every live query.

Enabled with the Sentra team during onboarding.
Using it from agents
Everything Sentra learns from Power BI is available to ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and internal agents through the Sentra MCP server and the REST API, with the same access rules applied to every request.
