Sentra for Gmail
Sentra reads business email across a Google Workspace domain and keeps the commitments, decisions and customer context in it, while filtering out personal and automated mail.
What Sentra syncs
- Email threads classified as business correspondence
- Thread participants, used to enforce access
- Workspace users and group membership
How it syncs
Sentra connects through Google Workspace domain-wide delegation and backfills mail nightly. A Workspace super admin authorises the connection once for the whole domain.
Permissions Sentra requests
gmail.readonly to read mail, plus admin.directory.user.readonly and admin.directory.group.member.readonly to resolve who is in the organization and which groups they belong to. Sentra cannot send, delete or change mail.
Who can see what
A person sees facts from an email thread only when their role allows it and they took part in the thread. Raw email bodies over the API and MCP require a separate email access permission that an admin grants on a custom role.
Setup
Gmail for the whole domain is switched on with the Sentra team during onboarding, after your Workspace admin grants domain-wide delegation.
Using it from agents
Everything Sentra learns from Gmail is available to ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and internal agents through the Sentra MCP server and the REST API, with the same access rules applied to every request.
