TL;DR

  • Notion AI comes with the Business plan, which costs $20 per member per month billed yearly or $24 billed monthly, per notion.com/pricing, checked 19 October 2026.
  • Free and Plus include only a limited trial of Notion AI. Plus costs $10 per member per month billed yearly or $12 billed monthly.
  • Enterprise is priced on request and adds zero data retention with Notion's AI model providers.
  • Custom Agents are billed separately: they are free to try, then cost $10 per 1,000 Notion credits, on Business and Enterprise only. Notion began charging for them on 4 May 2026.
  • A 10 person team on Business pays $2,400 a year on yearly billing. A 50 person team pays $12,000.
  • Sentra, the managed organization memory for teams and AI agents, lists its Team plan for 2 to 20 people at $16 per user per month, currently free as a launch special. It reads Slack, email, meetings and project tools rather than only the pages a team writes in Notion.

Notion AI pricing by plan

Notion stopped selling AI as a separate add-on to new customers in May 2025 and folded it into the Business and Enterprise plans. Its pricing page no longer lists an AI add-on. The table below shows the current list prices per member, checked on notion.com/pricing on 19 October 2026 with both the yearly and the monthly billing options.

PlanBilled yearlyBilled monthlyNotion AI
Free$0$0Limited trial
Plus$10 per member per month$12 per member per monthLimited trial
Business$20 per member per month$24 per member per monthIncluded: Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes, Enterprise Search (beta); Custom Agents with credits
EnterpriseCustomCustomEverything in Business, plus zero data retention with AI model providers; Custom Agents with credits

Notion charges per member, so every person added to the workspace as a member counts toward the bill, whether or not they use AI. Yearly billing saves about 17% on both paid self-serve plans: $20 against $24 on Business, and $10 against $12 on Plus.

What Notion AI on the Business plan includes

The Business plan includes Notion Agent, which can write and edit pages and work with databases, AI Meeting Notes, and Enterprise Search, which is in beta and searches connected tools such as Slack and Google Drive from inside Notion. According to Notion's Custom Agent pricing help page, these existing AI features remain included at no extra cost and do not use Notion credits. Free, Plus and Business workspaces keep 30 days of data retention with AI providers, and Enterprise gets zero data retention.

What Custom Agents cost

Custom Agents run on triggers or schedules without a person starting them, for example to answer questions, route tasks or post a daily brief. They are the one part of Notion AI that is metered. Notion credits cost $10 per 1,000 and are sold only on Business and Enterprise. Custom Agents were free through 3 May 2026, and admins have bought credits to keep them running since 4 May 2026. Credits are shared across the workspace and bought as a monthly amount; when they run out, agents pause until the credits reset or an admin adds more, and admins are notified at 80% and 100% of usage.

Notion publishes typical costs per run on its credits help page, checked 19 October 2026:

Custom AgentTypical cost per run
Q&A agent$0.03 to $0.11
Mail triage agent$0.04 to $0.10
Task routing agent$0.05 to $0.15
Status update agent$0.08 to $0.18
Daily brief agent$0.10 to $0.30

Basic database Autofill does not use credits. Autofill that runs as a Custom Agent does.

Worked example: Notion AI cost for 10 and 50 people

The seat cost is members × monthly price × 12. The agent line below assumes one daily brief Custom Agent per member on every working day, which is 22 runs per member per month at Notion's $0.10 to $0.30 per run.

Line10 people50 people
Business, billed yearly10 × $20 × 12 = $2,400 a year50 × $20 × 12 = $12,000 a year
Business, billed monthly10 × $24 × 12 = $2,880 a year50 × $24 × 12 = $14,400 a year
Daily brief runs per month10 × 22 = 22050 × 22 = 1,100
Custom Agent credits per month220 × $0.10 to $0.30 = $22 to $661,100 × $0.10 to $0.30 = $110 to $330
Custom Agent credits per year$264 to $792$1,320 to $3,960
Total with yearly billing$2,664 to $3,192 a year$13,320 to $15,960 a year

Without Custom Agents, the total is the seat line alone. Agents that run more often, read longer pages or scan larger databases use more credits than this estimate, according to Notion.

Is Notion AI free?

Only as a trial. The Free and Plus plans include a limited trial of Notion AI, and full access to Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes and Enterprise Search requires Business or Enterprise. Custom Agents are free to try on Business and Enterprise before credits are needed.

Where Notion AI stops

Notion AI is strongest over the pages and databases a team writes in Notion. Enterprise Search reaches into connected apps, but much of what a company decides is never written into a page: it is settled in a Slack thread, agreed on a call or confirmed in an email. When the price question is really about whether people and agents will get the current answer, compare the tools on what they read, not only on the seat price.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Notion AI cost?

Notion AI is included in the Business plan at $20 per member per month billed yearly or $24 billed monthly, and in Enterprise at a custom price, as of 19 October 2026. Custom Agents cost extra at $10 per 1,000 Notion credits.

Can I buy Notion AI as an add-on?

Not as a new customer. Notion stopped selling the standalone AI add-on to new customers in May 2025, and its pricing page lists no add-on. Free and Plus get a limited trial.

What are Notion credits?

Notion credits pay for Custom Agents on the Business and Enterprise plans. They cost $10 per 1,000, are shared across the workspace and are bought as a monthly amount. Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes and Enterprise Search do not use credits.

How much does Notion AI cost for a team of 10?

On Business, 10 × $20 × 12 = $2,400 a year with yearly billing, or 10 × $24 × 12 = $2,880 with monthly billing, before any Custom Agent credits.

Is Notion AI worth it?

It is good value when the team already writes its knowledge in Notion, because AI comes with the Business seat. If most decisions happen in Slack, meetings and email, a tool that reads those sources, such as Sentra, answers more of the questions the team actually asks.

Which Sentra is this?

Sentra at sentra.app is the managed organization memory for teams and AI agents. It is unrelated to Sentra.io, the data security company.
